In an industry where a commitment to absolute precision and total quality are as vital as the components themselves, Castle provide an unrivalled manufacturing service spanning more than four decades. Since the late 1960’s we have been involved in finish machining of materials such as Aluminium, Stainless Steel,Inconnel, Waspaloys Udimet , Titanium etc. The components have varied from fan discs for aero engines to main structure plates for E'Scan Radar. Add to this our £100m of aircraft liability insurance and you can rest assured that with Castle, you’re in safe hands.
Aluminium
Features: A non-magnetic, conductive, lightweight and ductile metal. The third most common element in the earth crust
Applications:Semiconductor technology, automotive engine and gearbox parts, heatsinks.
Stainless Steel
Features: A dense, extremely durable steel alloy with a high percentage of chromium, that provides high levels of tarnish and corrosion resistance.
Applications:Pressurised tanks, surgical equipment and under sea pipelines
Titanium
Features: Lightweight, strong, and corrosion-resistant material.
Applications:Titanium alloy used throughout the Aerospace industry for rotors, compressor blades and hydraulic system components.
Udimet
Udimet is a brand name of Nimonic
Features: An austenitic high temperature use alloy of nickel-chromium-cobalt, strengthened (by heat treatment) with titanium and aluminium additions.
Applications: High temperature, high strength gas turbine components.
Nimonic
Features: An austenitic high temperature use alloy of nickel-chromium-cobalt, strengthened (by heat treatment) with titanium and aluminium additions.
Applications: High temperature, high strength gas turbine components.
Inconnel
Features: High strength, high temperature resistant and corrosion resistant nickel chromium alloy. It is suitable for use at cryogenic temperatures and also for use in the air up to 1300F. the alloy is readily worked and can be age hardened.
Applications: Gas turbine hot section components, cryogenic storage tanks.
Waspaloys
Features: A nickel based alloy with good strength and oxidation resistance at high temperatures. Available in wrought forms as Bar, sheet and forgings.
Applications: Gas turbines for aircraft or land/marine use.
