Project engineering can make or break a job. It is essential to get things right at the beginning of a process which is why we place so much emphasis on the projects office.
In the projects office we evaluate the specifics of each enquiry to ensure we deliver exactly what's required. We decide on a suitable process, estimate expenditure and provide a detailed quote.
Usually each new project is assigned to a project engineer who takes responsibility for the job from quotation to the first deliveries, and then it's passed to the Production and Materials Departments. Thus our clients benefit from having one point of contact during the critical development stage of new projects.
Our project engineers and section leaders are aware that they are empowered to invest in cost-effective tooling, to improve quality and manufacturability - the decision being engineering , not accounting led.
To maximise the effectiveness of our Project Engineering Department we invest in technologies which not only cut down on paperwork but also reduce the scope for error. CAD tools such as CAMWorks, SolidWorks, Vericut, Procam and Procad assist our engineers in the manufacturing process.
Our in-house developed DNC systems (integrated into Production Control) give us the ability to transfer program to and from machine tools securely and without error; whist also verifying that the correct program revision is used.
Access to our computerised production control system allows project engineers and section leaders to monitor the ongoing performance of all jobs.
